Improve your everyday English at Lazy Dog English Studio. We offer structured classes focused on real-world English communication skills. Our English classes in Cambridge are for adults who want skills development for work, study and daily life.
Our 4-week General English programmes include 15 lessons per week with focused instruction and individual feedback. With a maximum of 8 students per class, you get the individual attention you need to progress. All lessons are held face-to-face in central Cambridge.

Hi, I’m Tim, a CELTA-qualified English teacher based in Cambridge.
I’m originally from London, where I lived for 25 years. I then spent 12 years in New Zealand, where I owned and ran a successful tourism company, before returning to the UK in 2018.
My background in teaching began as a dog trainer, working with people from many different backgrounds. That experience led me to study a degree at Anglia Ruskin University and later to qualify as an English teacher with the CELTA diploma.
More recently, I taught English with a charity supporting Ukrainian refugees, focusing on confidence, communication and practical everyday English.
I now live near Cambridge with Bambi, my chocolate Labrador (top photos). She’s not the Lazy Dog — she’s very much the Crazy Dog 🤪🐶
The original Lazy Dog was Hazel (bottom photos), another chocolate Labrador who sadly passed away in 2023. Hazel loved sleeping and was happiest curled up in a comfy spot. I loved her so much that I named my business after her ❤️
